From the Womb to the World!!

It brings me immense pleasure to share that I, along with 24 other bloggers are celebrating #9daysofwomanhood throughout Navratri. I thank Neha Sharma, mother of an adorable munch muffin, Nemo, for introducing me. I loved her blog http://growingwithnemit.com on the prompt for today "My Pregnancy"

When you become a mum, the memory chip installed in your brain, starts to lose its' shine and a lot of your world pre-mumhood life becomes hazy. So here's what I DO remember from when I was growing this tiny human who has now become my world. Let's take a time machine back into my pregnancy days!

They say, all your motherly instincts kick in when you see those two red lines on a stick. To me, frankly, ALL I really wanted to see was remnants of an ice cream on another kind of stick, of course.  Pregnancy meant, a LOT of apprehensions (the ghosts in my head just would NOT stop haunting me) and wrong timing (or so it seemed)

My first instinct was, "I WANT OUT!!"

After a glass of cold water or maybe about a million, I was all set out, to take on the pregnant world by the storm!
I went to my gynaecologist with a huge list precautions and questions about Pregnancy. She told me to "hold on my horses and that I was pregnant NOT sick"
THAT is it!
That is EXACTLY what I wanted to hear.
The early days, this is AFTER the meltdown, mostly involved me accepting this major change of circumstances. Nausea had shown mercy on me. Hurrah hurrah! 💃💃
Sleep and I were friends back then Although, I remember sleep, not that we are enemies now, it's just that I don't have time to sleep anymore #MommyLife
But that is besides the point.
I relaxed like I was a boss at raising babies. (At this point, I must add that the only experience I had with anything THAT tiny was, puppies and I kept telling myself that they can't be much different)

My pregnancy coincided with a lot of weddings that i just could NOT miss, so, the baby bump and I travelled places.

Friends offered a huge comfort. Despite them referring to me as a "ball" and my penguin like pregnancy waddle as "ball chaal" .

This baby bump saw a lot, heard a lot. Some of it was very happy and some not so happy. It heard about heartbreaks and it heard a few gossips. It heard atrocious Punjabi songs and kicked me hard when it did as cue to make them stop, I guess. It also was also a part some major heart to hearts .
This baby bump went through a lot. I am sure there were a lot of aches and pains and sickness and apprehensions but that is not what i remember. Mostly what I remember is that it was surrounded by love love love.
Mostly what I remember is the laughter !!

  1. This is the perfect blend of humor and seriousness. Undoubtedly we see both during our pregnancies. While you heard atrocious songs, i watched Gangs of wasseypur day in and day out!
